Our process: Herbal oils

Our process: Herbal oils

As part of our commitment to transparency, we want to shed some light on our unique process.

Every Jera blend begins with herbal oils, prepared using a method called solar infusion. This traditional technique, with roots in various cultures, recognizes the healing properties of plants. Soaking herbs with gentle heat softens the plant's structure, allowing medicinal compounds to be released into the carrier oil.

Solar infusion demands time and patience; we leave our infusions to bathe under the gentle light of the sun for several weeks. This method enhances the potency of the oils while preserving the innate spirit and quality of our ingredients. Historically, herbalists have employed similar techniques to create oils that embody the essence of the plants, emphasizing the deep connection between nature and healing (1).

Herbal oils are generally considered a safe and gentle alternative for expecting mothers, infants, and children. Unlike crude extracts and essential oils, herbal oils do not require dilution and can be used directly on the skin with a lower risk of irritation (2). This approach aligns with the teachings of traditional herbalism, where practitioners often emphasize the importance of gentle, plant-based remedies for those with weaker constitutions (3).
