Are there any hidden ingredients?
Our products at Jera are made exclusively from organic ingredients. Jera does not use any preservatives, fillers, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, or parabens. For the sake of complete transparency, we disclose all ingredients to our customers.
Are your products vegan?
Our products contain beeswax and are not considered vegan. Rest assured, we source the highest quality organic beeswax from New Zealand, where the bees are left to work and wander in their natural states, unsprayed.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin types?
Yes. To be extra safe, we recommend performing a skin patch test before using any of our products.
Why aluminum packaging? Is it safe?
Yes. We use Eco-certified BPA free aluminum packaging manufactured in France. Our tins are certified cosmetic and food grade and are 100% recyclable. As part of our mission to reduce environmental waste, we encourage customers to always recycle or reuse their packaging after use.
My balm feels a little gritty, is this normal?
While it is rare, now and again, particularly in the warmer months, your balm may melt in transit. As the shea butter resolidifies, crystallization may occur, altering the texture of the product. Rest assured, your product is perfectly fine, and the shea crystals will melt upon contact with the body's natural temperature.
We make our products with pure plant ingredients. Conditions like climate, season, and harvest can sometimes alter their character.
Our handmade products are free from chemical preservatives and stabilizers. At the same time, we are committed to maintaining quality and consistency as best as we can, yet we've learned to flow with nature's beautiful inconsistencies.
How long will my product last?
We recommend using your product(s) within six months of purchase for maximum potency. We handcraft our products in small batches to keep them as fresh as possible. While our products are shelf-stable for up to one year, we suggest storing them in a cool dark place, out of sunlight to prolong their life span. In warmer climates, we recommend keeping your product(s) in the refrigerator.
What do I do if my product melts?
Given that we do not use any synthetic waxes or stabilizers, your product may melt if stored incorrectly. Fortunately, it is easy to rectify your Jera balm. Firstly, tightly secure the lid and give the tin a gentle swirl. Store your product in the refrigerator until it returns to its solid-state. The healing properties of your product will not be affected by melting. You can avoid melting by carefully following our product care instructions.
